Top 5 Fort Lauderdale Food & Drink Spots: A Local’s Guide

Okay, so you’re after some seriously amazing food and drink places around Fort Lauderdale, right? I mean, I get that, so I am here to provide some very needed opinions about a handful of spots that have always kept me coming back. Maybe I am a bit biased as I’ve grown up around this area and watched these joints come up, so, yet that is probably exactly what makes this round-up kinda special, you know? This ain’t some stuffy critic talking; this is like your next-door neighbor handing over their carefully curated list of go-to places. I suppose it might be better if you think of these places as where stories begin, where you go when you seriously need comfort food after a messy breakup (we’ve all been there, haven’t we?), or perhaps it’s where you celebrate a job promotion with friends who are as excited as you are. If any of this sounds pretty darn tempting then make sure you are keeping up with new spots to grub around!

1. Coconuts: Seaside Sipping and Bites

Coconuts Fort Lauderdale

Okay, so if you want some super-chill vibes mixed with some killer waterfront views, that might be Coconuts. We can see them tossing those big nets straight onto the beach, right? Okay, so anyway, picture it. You get to grab some super cold drink, the ocean breeze kinda playing with your hair, as you are watching boats go by… That sounds like living the Fort Lauderdale dream, correct? So you could start off with their super crazy “Lobster Mac & Cheese,” or, maybe, very carefully consider getting the super light and rather crisp “Tuna Nachos.” Pretty interesting right? If all of this gets your head going then make sure that you are exploring what new plates are arriving on the beach! The cool factor for me, I gotta say, too, it’s almost that their menu has, like, something for really every single soul walking through the door. This could be the most ideal location to just sit for a very good stretch of time. This is a can’t miss kind of location, especially on days when things start to wind down from your typical South Florida weather.

2. Bo’s Beach: A Taste of Paradise

Bo's Beach Fort Lauderdale

So Bo’s Beach happens to be that super spot on Fort Lauderdale Beach where things always kinda seem upbeat. I am telling you, this place almost feels like its been pulled from an insane vacation brochure. That alone feels worth checking out, don’t you think? Imagine a very potent cocktail that has, just, tons of fruity tastes, mixed with that sunshine and with people chattering all around. What you need to get would be their crazy burgers and any of their apps with super-fresh seafood. Just be ready, because what you think will be a very small bite often is almost as big as your head! If anything else catches your eye make sure that you are taking a look around the area so you are not blind sighted! This might be your happy hour stop or perhaps its the place where your whole crew posts up for sunset. Either way, make sure that you don’t pass up a chance to party over at Bo’s!

3. S3 Restaurant: Sun, Surf, and Sand

S3 Restaurant Fort Lauderdale

So, alright, picture yourself chilling on a very classy beachfront spot, just casually digging your toes right into the sand while you’re about to scarf down food and super-tasty drinks. The name ‘S3’ kind of makes things plain: Sun, Surf, and Sand. Pretty straightforward and right on the money, right? I kinda go wild for their little plates– these will likely let you taste literally all kinds of stuff without falling into a huge food coma, is that wild or what? Actually their sushi’s pretty alright, that is especially true if you happen to be after something light but, still kinda special. To get an extra scoop on this, make sure you are keeping up with local deals for this restaurant, I tell you! I often find myself just standing there for hours as things get really warm under the Floridian Sun. So if this also describes you, give this place a go!

4. Township FTL: Beer and Brats Heaven

Township FTL Fort Lauderdale

Now if you’re more like a beer-and-brats soul, there is Township FTL, too, it’s almost your beer heaven just landed smack dab in Fort Lauderdale. When it looks to the atmosphere, I’m very fond of the vibe. This has to be said! With their long tables plus communal seating you can totally bank on starting a very new convo with, really, anyone sitting kinda near to you. This feels a bit like your super classic, you know, beer garden but with that distinct South Florida touch added in to make sure things do not get stale. Food-wise? I will always suggest trying one of their really great brats – top ’em with all types of fancy mustard and kraut! To give yourself the ultimate scoop make sure you are keeping an eye for awesome places that will get your drinks flowing! After some sunshine this has always been one of my favorite hang-outs because their prices are typically easier on your bank account so that is kinda nice, eh?

5. Rhythm & Vine: The Backyard Bash

Rhythm & Vine Fort Lauderdale

Okay so for you chill cats needing something super-laid back with that very tiny dash of strange, then there’s likely Rhythm & Vine! This place really kinda feels like your friend has tossed up the ultimate backyard shindig… Only it just so happens they do make very tasty drinks and food. Very on point! It is the best for when you want something to actually get a little silly because this spot’s set up with funky seating everywhere. If you want the proper scoop so you can start chilling and relaxing just start seeking the spots to start relaxing right now! From random games to whatever bands that will probably show up, you may expect pretty darn much anything.
