As the yacht gently began its trip away from the dock, the scenery around us began to change, too it’s almost as if the whole city started to tell a different kind of story. We soon found ourselves gliding along the Hudson River, honestly, with the impressive Manhattan city line slowly coming into clearer view against the setting sun. Seeing well-known tall buildings, such as, for instance, the Empire State Building, lit up in that soft, ending daylight was pretty amazing. The boat moved with a smooth, quiet pace, which, like, allowed for just thinking or quiet conversation. As we turned south, the very grand Statue of Liberty eventually came into sight, its proud form standing there, an icon of freedom for all to see. The way the golden sunlight caught its surface, that, truly, was a rather powerful moment for everyone. We passed under the mighty Brooklyn Bridge, too, where you could see the cars as just little specks crossing above, and the historical presence of it was really quite humbling. It felt like, in a way, we were getting a rare, truly unique glimpse of these renowned structures from a totally new place. Every now and then, another impressive bridge or famous part of the waterfront would pass by, constantly providing truly wonderful picture opportunities, just keeping everyone busy looking and taking it all in.
