So, you’re thinking about seeing the Highlands and Loch Ness? Through the Highlands: Scenic Wonders

Once you are out in the Highlands? My gosh! Picture this: huge mountains that tend to be covered in heather, shining lochs (that is lakes for any unfamiliar), and valleys so green, too it’s almost unreal. We drove past places such as the Forth Bridge, a really incredible bit of engineering, and so many other photogenic spots that tended to make grabbing pictures from a moving bus almost become an Olympic sport! We had little pit stops, you see, at spots with seriously amazing views. I’m telling you, the fresh air up there? Honestly revitalizing. I usually think city air doesn’t hold a candle to it, you see. It tended to make all of us stretch our legs and, like, snap photos. These views are really great, almost guaranteed to liven up your Instagram feed.

The guide then really started reeling off some history and local folklore. We learnt about Scottish clans, famous battles, and actually a whole heap of stories linked to the land that were pretty gripping, honestly. Very, very similar to when the landscape did come alive, history certainly made it feel even more epic. Loch Ness: Monster Hunting and More

Then comes the main event, right? Loch Ness itself! That place looks vast, really dark, and so atmospheric. It really makes that ‘monster mystery’ feel very plausible, you know? So, we took, too it’s almost, a boat tour right onto the loch. So, while holding onto a slight hope to see Nessie, our guide was really telling us even more tales. You see, sonar was actually used, there, in order to seek that monster out, along with different stories and odd happenings on the loch. Honestly speaking, the whole thing had that magical feeling, definitely boosted by just being out on those water, arguably.

Near the loch is also Urquhart Castle. The ruins were really steeped in history, and the photo opportunities? Honestly amazing. It tends to be really awesome walking round somewhere this old, imagining life back then. Anyway, there really were gift shops there. They sell Nessie themed everything! It’s almost funny. From cuddly toys to keychains to, I think I spotted, Nessie-shaped shortbread. Lunch in the Highlands: A Taste of Scotland

Right, then that includes the lunch. The tour usually includes grub, too it’s almost, at some local place in the Highlands. Anyway, this gives you that chance to try some proper Scottish food, beyond the usually mass-produced, tourist rubbish. I ate haggis. Neeps and tatties, all in the hopes of having, that kind of, traditional food. Let me tell you, when you try it, and that it sounds scary, I actually thought it tasted good! There were different choices that include stuff usually a bit more safe for fussy eaters, you see, and that is not the case. Anyway, it really gives you the opportunity, very much, to get a break and fill that tummy.

Also, I got the chance, like your average tourist, to try loads of regional drinks in the different locations! Like, they had Irn-Bru, the well known fizzy stuff, right to the single malt whiskey for sampling, in some respects. And by doing it with that group? It almost feels like celebrating culture; honestly feels far, far better than having lunch alone, probably in the golden arches, if that sounds about right! The Ride Back: Reflections and Weariness

Now, right when the day winds to a close? It involved that long bus ride back to Edinburgh. To be real? Almost everyone then felt fairly tired! I tend to think sitting down for too long does that to people, still the scenes outside are often really magical with that sunset coloring that highlands, and that actually tends to make the journey nice. Looking back, I feel, it tends to be almost awesome recalling that adventure as your nodding off. Maybe have some peace in order to relax. Some downtime, in the hope that you are now appreciating those snaps that I’m going through.

Right as you roll back, too it’s almost, into Edinburgh, you will notice its definitely very different, right? Then when that trip took place. In some respects, I actually knew a bit about the country and people and a place that really did have lots for everyone. You know, that moment does provide so many brilliant memory hooks.
