You can, you know, actually see the milky river of stars, sometimes called the Milky Way, so very, very clearly stretching across the vast, dark area above your head, which is something you might typically only get to see in photos, or maybe in your imagination. The air, as a matter of fact, often gets slightly cool at night, which truly feels good, so you might want to put on another layer, just something a little bit warmer, you know, that’s what we did. Lying back, basically, on a warm rug or a simple seat and just looking straight up, allowing your eyes to adjust to the true deep quiet and the dark, you realize, honestly, just how truly small you are in the face of this great, big place, in a good way.
Sleeping Under the Open Sky
When you, finally, decide to head into your tent for the evening, that calm feeling just kind of stays with you, to be honest.
