You walk on a specially built walkway that is suspended beneath the road. That’s right – there is only air between you and the bottom of the ravine. When you are getting strapped in and get all the safety instructions, and a safety briefing is just that point where everything really starts to feel real. You’re shuffling to the edge with the instructor after what seems like an hour and the ground beneath is so, very far away. They give you a countdown, and I can only imagine that a number of things go through your head right before. Honestly, I was almost certain that time slowed down. Yet before you can fully think about what you are doing you lean and fall, and that’s when the real fun starts. As I was saying it’s so fast that it feels like you are free falling. I suppose you are actually, right before the bungy cord grabs and swings you. All of the fear turns into pure adrenaline. Its an incredible and scary and all other sensations at once.
You also don’t just get hauled back up right away. Anyway, the crew lowers you down to a platform from which you can take a walk of shame to be hoisted to safety. You have the option for a speedy zip line back to solid ground to be a total, complete winner who conquers all. Then its all finished and over!

Is Bloukrans Still the Highest in 2025? A Bit of Perspective
