Top 5 Tsitsikamma Car Tours: Unforgettable Routes
Right, so, you’re thinking of taking a car trip to Tsitsikamma National Park? Great plan! This place, right, it’s almost like stepping into a movie, with dramatic coastlines and those forests that feel, that feel very, very old, isn’t it? Now, finding, right, that picture-perfect drive might be a bit tricky if you don’t know where to look, alright? I’ve put together, I mean I’ve gone and put together this list of five absolute stunners that you, that you really shouldn’t miss when exploring Tsitsikamma by car, you see.
1. The Storms River Mouth Meander
First, there’s, alright there’s this trip called the Storms River Mouth Meander; really, very fitting name, actually! That, I think, is possibly the postcard view, yeah? Very quintessential Tsitsikamma, very. When, almost when you pull into the parking, that bright blue suspension bridge is that, is like, “Hello, adventure time!”. The hike down to it? It could be a bit steep in places, yet, so, you may just want decent shoes! Crossing that bridge? This feels a bit like floating on air, and, and just a little below you, the river meets the sea, and so it is almost an incredible sight. I have a pal, called Trevor; he saw dolphins there once – now how cool, is that?
Oh, right, and one thing, this Meander; it’s really within the Storms River Rest Camp itself, right, so you will have to, will have to pay the conservation fee to get in. Worth it though, at the end of the day! Actually there are these little trails snaking around all over there – there’s almost that Agulhas Lookout Trail, too; very very short, only 1 km – I, like I, often did that one with my little nephew! Actually, it’s nearly very amazing views, that one too, of that ocean.
2. Bloukrans Pass: A Scenic Detour
Alright, Bloukrans Pass; have you heard, right, about that one? Actually, now that’s a bit more of that rugged beauty. Leave, alright, that well-worn Garden Route for a little bit and venture off; you will soon discover roads, basically twisty, very turny roads, really, cutting via those mountains. Very almost, very majestic they are too; quite possibly this would not suit your nan if she does get travel-sick easy! So, this route gets rather you away from that main road, allowing for that peaceful, and very often almost solitary, drive where, right, and you will have a moment, maybe moments, where that you feel, feel a bit very like you are, are, like, totally alone out there, that, that no one, actually no one’s around. If you’re there in spring? That explosion of very of floral beauty, yeah! You will need to just take plenty of, very plenty of snaps.
Right, so there is one little thing, there, you do, that you probably should be mindful of. This pass has areas of, there is the bit very of gravel road. Mostly, very perfectly manageable in your average car, too it’s almost, yet, maybe when it has just rained; I mean it can be a little different, but, and so you could just, arguably could consider that, right, so it just isn’t maybe any awful surprise. Actually, this is really such an attractive different drive, though; so worth taking if, anyway, right, if that gravel does not scare one. The pass can actually take one nearly right back onto that N2 at that end if you would prefer, you see.
3. The Otter Trail Viewpoint Drive
Right, The Otter Trail. Now even if, right, that, actually that multi-day hike doesn’t sound actually your thing, right? You can have, still get, a tiny bit of that Otter Trail magic, alright? Very slightly easier. Quite like if I would tell people about an action movie, saying “same but easier!”. See, between Storms River and Nature’s Valley, just there you see a few viewpoint spots that look almost down onto that start of that world-well known hiking path, really, yeah?. Get, that’s it you get the bit of glimpse, well that you actually do! A tiny glimpse, and quite easily almost imagine those happy hikers there, very making their way along there.
Stop, or arguably even a picnic here, it is often this brilliant way; to just kind of very soak that all in! Bring that sandwich, too it’s almost. So I went for very short hikes here – quite near; for photos! At some times, these paths down might be fairly uneven; however not, yet actually properly intense for these casual tourist visitors here. So make sure you take this in, when traveling.
4. Nature’s Valley Exploration
Nature’s Valley itself; that’s like, basically that treasure at that end of that scenic road – very little, arguably very hidden and quite unknown, you see. Getting into Nature’s Valley almost kind of feels like you are almost entering like, maybe a little quite secret paradise! The road sort of it winds through quite, quite lush forests! Suddenly you’re greeted, well really properly greeted actually by; is almost pristine beaches! Those beaches go nearly, very seemingly for very forever; they are, are just actually a joy for the traveler!
Alright, so there are some things you are able to, basically can, do here actually: Hike through that forest? Walk on the beach quite at that lagoon’s edge?. You get, or even arguably get, your photos of that that iconic Groot River bridge here!. Actually a couple almost small, rather really little eateries – or you even bring basically that very own packed meal right! I am of course always telling tourists about them; that they will often like such small cafes there!. You could very even take time, it’s very likely take your board and do watersports here as such also. Nature’s Valley really is, I mean totally very one where, you find all sorts; to enjoy, in South Africa!
5. Tsitsikamma to Plettenberg Bay via the R102
Alright, the drive to Plettenberg Bay now; I, basically actually reckon that trip shows that coastal beauty that Tsitsikamma basically often becomes, well does become rightly renowned – nearly renowned for actually, anyway! Now, just just slightly just leave that, nearly actually boring, N2, for very, right; for that very little road route R102! What a trip it will almost, pretty much do for, maybe, you.
Alright now it actually offers up a different view here right? Not only right is this a little like the N2 (with those giant long trucks also you’ll almost sometimes be quite happy too) Yet, what you have you here instead too almost, is it rolling hills, yet green quite very gorgeous valleys; it almost reminds the writer very much of the shire, right?! The farm stalls that there actually are? Are amazing so too. Great right for stopping. You also you can purchase some; of almost tasty home stuff almost; so actually there.
